What is Rotary?
Rotary is a global humanitarian organization founded in 1905 that brings together business, professional, and community leaders to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace. Rotary members, known as Rotarians, volunteer their time and expertise to address important issues both locally and globally, such as fighting disease, supporting education, promoting peace, providing clean water, and protecting the environment.
Rotary operates through clubs, like the Rotary Club of Shah Alam, where members meet regularly to plan service projects, exchange ideas, and network for professional and personal growth. Rotary also collaborates with global partners, including the United Nations, to carry out impactful projects that address global challenges. The organization’s motto, “Service Above Self,” reflects its commitment to improving communities and making a lasting positive impact.
