❤️ A Lifesaving Collaboration: “Save The Heart” Project Now Saving Lives
On 3rd August 2024, during the Rotary Club of Shah Alam’s 45th Anniversary Celebration and the Installation of the Board of Directors for RY 2024–2025, we proudly launched the Save The Heart Project—a flagship health initiative aimed at serving the B40 community with critical heart screening and support.
The project was officially marked by the signing of an MOU with Sunway Medical Centre, a leading name in healthcare, as our core medical partner in this journey.
🩺 Progress So Far: Four Rounds of Screenings and Counting
Since its launch, the project has conducted four rounds of heart health screening, identifying numerous individuals with varying levels of cardiovascular risk. These screenings have already proven invaluable, with five individuals now identified as critically in need of immediate medical intervention.
Their diagnoses range from conditions requiring angiograms and angioplasty, to long-term medication and monitoring.
🤝 Enter Selcare: A Game-Changing Partnership
We are immensely grateful to announce that Sunway Medical Centre has now been officially appointed as a participating medical centre under the Selcare Program—an initiative by the Selangor State Government.
This partnership is a turning point. Through Selcare’s funding, high-risk patients who previously faced uncertainty and financial barriers are now being supported with:
- Urgent diagnostic procedures
- Life-saving treatments
- Long-term medical care and medication
